We are having an extremely hard time purchasing more stock. From what I'm now hearing the shortage may continue for at least another year or so. The pricing of these products when we can find them are increasing greatly and will continue to do so. We have been forced to raise our prices accordingly. As we sell out of stock on these products I will list it as out of stock. I have no idea when we will be able to get more product in stock. I make several calls a week trying to find more.
This is a very nice wood for the scroll saw. It is a very strong plywood even after cutting your fretwork. All plies are birch. Inner plies are virtually void free. Edges finish very nicely. Very light in color. It has an interior glue. Over 99% defect free, an occasional oval plug may be found in the back face. The Russian Grade - Baltic Birch Plywood is not manufactured with a clear face on both sides.
1/8" is 3-ply, 1/4" is 5-ply, 3/8" is 7-ply, 1/2" is 9-ply, 5/8" is 11-ply, & 3/4" is 15-ply.

Below is a listing of our Hardwood Plywood
All the different species of hardwood plywood is manufactured using about the same process. All the 1/8" & 1/4" is started using what is called a veneer core. This core is a wood product almost white is color and it has no voids. A piece of veneer is then glued to each side of the veneer core. Using the species of choice.
For example: Red Oak plywood good one side will have a nice red oak veneer on the front face and a different species on the back (usually birch or a lower grade of red oak). The back face on a good one side plywood will be a lower grade veneer and can have small defects in it. This plywood works great on projects where you can not see the back. A Red Oak Plywood good two sides will have a nice Red Oak veneer on both sides. Great for projects where the back side can be seen. When the veneer's are glued on the sheet measures 1/4" think, but then it is run through a press to make sure the glue sticks to all surfaces. After the pressing process the sheets measure a little less than 1/4" thick. The 1/8" is made the same way.
